Hello, everyone!
First, I would like to say how happy and excited I am to be here! This board is a wonderful place to discuss all things Eagles and interact with fans across the globe. What a wonderful site! I've been lurking for several months and decided to finally take the plunge.
My Eagles fandom dates back to Christmas 1976 when my older brother, Scott, received the HC album as a gift. For weeks, he played it over and over on the floor console stereo (remember those?). As an 11 year-old girl with a desire to be cool like the older kids, I listened to, and came to love, every song on that LP. It's still my favorite to this day. BTW, he and his friends caught a show on their subsequent tour. I was so mad at him for not asking me to go, but who wants a kid sister tagging along?
Fast forward about twenty years and I found myself attending several shows (take that, Scott!) on their HFO tour. They looked great (HS&G!) and sounded wonderful. I remember the crowd singalong throughout the shows - we all knew the words! Still have the tour program and unwashed t-shirt.
Fast forward another twenty years and I found this place! After years of building a collection of band and some solo LPs and CDs, sitting mesmerized in front of the TV during the HOTE documentary, and trying to figure out how I can catch a show before it's all over, I discovered a community of Eagles fans worldwide who also love their legacy! You are awesome!
Anyway, I've babbled on enough. Normally, I'm not this longwinded, and I do apologize. I guess it's hard to contain the excitement sometimes!
