Thanks, FP! This one is very tempting. I really wish I knew if I'll have a job in October, and if I do, where. If I work where I am now, this could easily get turned into a business trip. Unfortunately, I won't have any answers by Monday....

FP, I hope you don't mind, I edited your post to change to Central Daylight Time.

Got tickets, tried Houston but ticket buying was a hassle to say the least.

Good job, LA Eagle! I was very tempted to try for some tickets. Due to the drama I mentioned in the Life thread, I was in a place where I could buy some (I can't at the customer site). I wondered if it was a sign that I should. Then determined it wasn't! A shame, because San Antonio is a great little city.

San Antonio's the prettiest city in Texas. Wish I could go!

For anyone who is considering traveling to this show, I do not recommend the Airport Hilton. I had one of the more hideous hotel experiences ever this past week and am planning on sending them a letter of complaint. They are doing massive remodeling and so it might be better in the future, but I somehow doubt it.

If you plan on driving to the venue either way, staying right downtown along the riverwalk is always a good option. The AT&T center isn't far from there as I recall. I've seen hotels near the center, but I don't remember the names of any of them. Maybe Google it, and check out Yelp? When I stayed there in the past, I stayed on base, so I'm not very familiar with the hotels in San Antonio.
