    Default Local family

I heard yesterday that a local family lost their teenage daughter in an accident with a drunk driver about two weeks ago. Over the holiday weekend they lost their son in an ATV accident. I can't even imagine what those parents are going through right now.

How awful. It's unthinkable. Prayers for this family.

I just found out that the two accidents were one week apart, the guy was 20 and the girl was 17. The ATV accident was caused by a deer jumping out and knocking the ATV over (plus I imagine he swerved), and his head hit the ground and he died almost a week later.

I don't have kids, but I can't imagine ever dealing with something like this. You would need the faith of Job, literally, to get through it.

ETA: made a correction, the son lived for almost a week. Also, there was a girl in the car with the daughter and she's still in critical condition.

I can't begin to imagine the heartbreak those people are dealing with. I'll keep them in my prayers.

OMG - This is absolutely horrible. My heart goes out to this family as I know their life will never be the same. A couple that I went to high school with lost their only two children just a few years apart. The oldest was killed in an accidental shooting and the youngest died a few later after battling melanoma. Both sons were in their early 30's, and I don't think my classmates have ever completely healed - it has been a horrific live-changing tragedy for them for sure.
