Default BBC United States of Rock documentary

BBC Four is trailing a 3-part documentary on american rock from the 1960s to 1990s. The first episode will be broadcast on 10th January 2014 at 9pm and the second a week later.
This second part of Born To Be Wild tells the story of the 1970s, when rock stars became multi-millionaires and the music they made was the soundtrack for middle America.

The programme includes rare studio and concert footage of the acts who defined 70s classic rock including Alice Cooper, Bruce Springsteen, Boston and the Eagles, and features interviews with many of the big names of 1970s classic American rock.

This series is part of BBC Four’s United States of Rock, a season celebrating US rock music, telling the story of its history through the bands that lived it and featuring some of the great concerts.

Definitely will be worth watching but I'd say (JMHO) Felder making comments might be just a little one sided. It will be interesting to hear what he says, but I'd love to hear it from the perspective of the current Eagles as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Eagles in the context of all the other big acts of the time and also the differences between the UK and US music scenes in the late 70s. I'm not expecting any new Eagles stuff.

This is now on youtube. The Eagles part starts around 40 mins into part 2 with Don Felder talking about writing Hotel Caifornia, cocaine and the difficulty of writing a follow up to HC.

My feeling was the Eagles (and Fleetwood Mac) didn't fit into the main premise of the documentary series so they were treated as peripheral - they made a lot of money and used a lot of cocaine, that's it.

It's been blocked in Canada on copyright grounds.

Additional note: the Eagles segment starts around 38:45. A few minutes after that segment ends, Don Felder talks about cocaine abuse, so keep watching.
