He has incredible blue eyes, and they change colors. When he's giving someone THE LOOK, they're a very dark midnight blue. Sometimes they're a grayish blue. Most of the time they're the color of sapphires. I could go on and on...

Any theory why they look brown in some photos and even videos (eg the 1973 BBC concert)?

He has deeply set eyes, and they are often shadowed. I know my eyes change color depending on what I wear and what mood I'm in, and while mine mostly change from blue to some weird gray color, they are often green and hazel as well. I think most blue-eyed people have this happen, although I doubt Don's are ever anything but blue. He has eyes the same color as my father's, and Dad's never change color.

Mood and lighting can definitely affect eye color if you have hazel eyes. Mine are a green-hazel and sometimes they appear brown.

Same here. I thought that it might be my phone, but all of the other photos are there.

I haven't posted this photo for a long time but it gives a good view of the eyes.



(If you will forgive me for mentioning it though Mark Knopfler has the most startling ice blue eyes - a lighter colour & more vivid than Glenn's).

My theory is that his pupils were dilated. I'm sure it must have been due to a visit to the optometrist rather than any chemical substances he may have been ingesting or inhaling.
