Kiss is coming to Finland next year. As it's a bigger part of my life than any other band (not necessarily on a musical level anymore, but emotional) it would be nice to see them. However, it's rather expensive. Paul's voice is gone (although he's still a good frontman and a great rhythm guitar player). Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer in Peter's and Ace's makeup...no thanks. Gene is still great. IMO this lineup's last album (Monster) was one of the greatest Kiss albums ever, but live they have decided to be a nostalgia act. I wish they would perform without makeup. If they had faith in their new music and toured the world as a fresh band, it would be an "OF COURSE!" for me. But as it is, I'm still not sure.
Guns'n'Roses is coming to Finland next year - and even to my new hometown. However, Izzy Stradlin was always my favorite G'n'R member and sadly he's not part of the reunion. When I was a teenager I loved Izzy imagewise and as a songwriter. In the past few years I have started to respect his guitar contributions - thanks partly to YouTube and the "isolated guitars" clips. He really was the element that kept them from being just a hard rock band. He added the soul, the funk and the groove. Izzy and Slash formed the perfect rhythm guitar duo. Listen to Appetite with headphones and you'll know what I mean.
Ian Anderson is also coming here next year - billed as "Jehtro Tull", I understand. They're coming to my wife's home town. I love Tull to death, but I'm not sure if I'm interested in seeing Ian Anderson (who really can't sing anymore) playing with a bunch of guys as Jethro Tull. No Martin Barre.
So there are important gigs coming up, but I'm still not sure. Which one should I choose? If I had all the money in the world it would be a nonissue. But I don't! For monetary reasons I decided to skip Procol Harum's (well, Gary Booker's) last visit, and that's almost inexcusable!
My Dad surprised my Mom and me this morning buy actually getting us the Stevie Nicks & The Pretenders concert tickets for a Christmas present!!! We didn't think we'd be able to go since the Tom Petty & Joe ones were kind of pricey but he still got them. He's actually going to go with us too, even though he doesn't care too much for Stevie (his words "She's ok" LOL), as he loves The Pretenders and Chrissie Hynde.

I'm going to see Chicago (with the Doobies) in June, my first time seeing them. I sprung for the meet & greet package; I hope I get to meet Lee Loughnane, trumpet player and cutie pie.
