as you know I teach very troubled kids.
Today an 19 year old Sr blew up in the hallway right before my class because he got his phone taken away...Security took him away and he was out of class for about 20 minutes (for some reason many students were absent so that gave me a little break) When he came back in, he apologized got a little work done and then started talking about why he gets angry so fast. The family is SUPER poor When he was 9, he, his mother and the baby sister were sleeping in bed. It was cold they only had a space heater and that is why the three of them were in the same bed. He said the baby was in the middle. They went to sleep and when they woke up, the baby 6 months old had died during the night . He said his mama went crazy and he kept trying to play it out to see if he caused it maybe he laid on her or something. He could describe the color of the tongue, the skin and everything. That is a LOT Of baggage to be carrying around.
Kind of puts a perspective on how troubled kids get thrown into the actions/behaviors situations we see.
My heart went out to him. All I could say was I'm sorry no one was there that could help you work it through. He blames himself for it happening. I guess when the police got there the whole family went nuts and a brother was tazed and this kid was hand cuffed and he has been in trouble ever sense.
