I find "The Last Worthless Evening" to be very well-done. The scenes with the woman communicate the theme of the song very well. I guess what puts it in third place for me is the stand-in Don filmed from the back during the scenes when they dance. It may seem small, but it always distracts me! Plus, in a race this close, even the small things count.

I cast my vote for The Last Worthless Evening.

OK. Its the battle between long hair Don vs the short hair Don.

Neither one of these videos are really not my favorite, but I'm voting on a song that when it comes on the radio, I turn up the volume and start dancing before it even gets into the song. And of course hotness. Don is hot in both videos, but somehow this video. I like just seeing Don.

I vote for The Boys of Summer.

Thanks to everybody who explain the meaning behind BOS because I was like the song doesn't go along with the video. LOL

No doubt - THE BOYS OF SUMMER!!

Way better song and video IMO.

This is a hard one. BOS is iconic, but EOTI is more moving, I think. It affects me in a way BOS doesn't.

Plus, while I understand BOS effectively evokes a mood, EOTI also evokes a mood well and in addition, seems more directly connected to the song.

Yeah, Don's got better hair in BOS, but let's not go just off that. Plus, EOTI has more close-ups of those intense, beautiful eyes.

EOTI is also less repetitive with its imagery. BOS relies on the same images again and again, while EOTI is more complex and gives you a lot more to think about... innocence and its loss is shown with images of small town nostalgia, sexual discovery, culture, politics, induction into the military... so much to work with and so much to say about society, yet it still never comes across as didactic to me. That's quite an accomplishment.

I'd also add that the video for EOTI actually gave me additional insight into the song on occasion. For instance, when you see a soldier getting his hair shorn at a barber shop in order to join the military, and they show the locks of his hair falling around the chair in the barber shop as Don sings "Let your hair fall around me" - wow. It added a whole new layer to that line's connotation.
