Wow! I'm with you Eliza ... never figured I hear anything from Hotel California used in a church homily - at least, not in a positive way.

I went to my sons' school prizegiving this year and the headmaster used the same line in his speech. Not quite up with hearing it in church but it shows how much it has become part of culture.
