I watched the documentary a couple of months ago after it was aired by the BBC and I'm now slightly obsessed. My obsession led me here as I tried to fill in the gaps in my knowledge.
Back in the early seventies, the Eagles were my favourite band (I bought the first four albums) but by Hotel California, I'd moved on and hadn't looked back. All I knew about them was what I could remember from reading the cover notes some forty years ago. Three months ago, I would have struggled to name the band members but could have sung along to all the early songs.
I've now watched the documentary and the 1973 concert many times. I've gone down internet rabbit holes trying to make sense of it all. I'm also catching up on a lot of music and remembering what it was like to be 13-16 years old, growing up in South Wales and a fan of what I knew as the "West Coast Sound".
