My day started badly with a swollen eyelid but I went to go to my usual yoga class. Unfortunately, I struggled with all the poses, even those I can usually manage and the sunglasses I'd found to hide behind turned the world a sickly yellow. To cheer myself up, I went shoppping for new sunglasses. Then the sun came out, my favourite busker was playing and there was an empty table and chair outside a cafe opposite and the world seemed a lot better.
I've been listening to this guy for nearly thirty years. Funny to think that we were probably both in our twenties when I first heard him.

It's good it got better!
I hope my day gets better...found out my sister invited someone for the day that she KNOWS I don't want to be around. It's not like I can just turn around and go home. I'm so mad I'm about to explode. If I had known this I wouldn't have driven 7.5 hours, Mother's Day and dad's birthday or not. Why would she do this? I have a horrible feeling she's invited for dinner, too, which will definitely make my dad explode and completely ruin his birthday.

UTW - hope your swollen eyelid has gone down. Sounds like you made the best of it though and enjoyed the rest of your day.I love shopping for sunglasses. If I could afford it, I would have dozens!
VA - hope you are managing to enjoy your visit. I think I would have to ask my sister WHY if she did something like that.

VA - I know all about awkward sisters - my sister got a new car yesterday but I wasn't able to go see it until today so she got into a huff and hasn't spoken to me all day because of that.

It went better than I thought it would. The other person seemed to guess at how I was feeling and didn't push it with me None of the "Why don't we get together anymore" and "Let's do more things together" that her sisters put me through a year or so ago.
It helped that the weather was totally awesome. A cousin has a private pond and my sister went fishing while we watched, then we went to my dad's and my sister's kids rode quads and dirtbikes while we ate pizza. My brother and sister in law joined us and we had a great visit. We're all sunburnt, and it felt great to be outside the entire day.
