oh good VA
Austin, bummer, must be irritating to wait especially if you're stressing about it, but hang in there
So as one more thing that I'm dealing with, the pneumonia, like any lung issue, has set off the asthma. Not nearly as bad as the allergic reaction last year, but enough to keep me awake at night coughing. I've been using the inhaler, but it's been over two weeks now, and it shouldn't be used long term like that. I finally went to the doctor about it. She prescribed what I should have been taking for this, the generic for Singulair. The insurance company rejected it! They said it needed prior authorization. The pharmacy called me to tell me so that I didn't make the trip for nothing (which was nice of them), and told me that this kind of thing usually takes 72 hours to one week to resolve. I can't wait that long!
I called the insurance company and complained. I told them sick people shouldn't have to deal with this, and I'm having problems breathing, and did they really think it was a good idea to wait a week? I got the lady upset enough she decided to handle it herself. She put me on hold and called my doctor, and did a conference call with the approval department. I was on hold a long time, so she said she'd call me back. She called ten minutes later to tell me it was approved, then put me on hold while she called the pharmacy and told them to fill it right away! She got it approved for a year, but I don't anticipate using it that long. A 30 day supply is $131, so I'm glad I didn't have to pay for it out of pocket.

Glad it went well VA and you are feeling better.
Glad you are feeling better VA! But my oh my, the hoops you guys seem to have to jump through to get any kind of medical care seems crazy. I've seen other situations on FB where people with or without insurance seem to be forking out extortionate sums of money for basic treatment. I'm not saying our health service is perfect by any means but it seems to be a lot 'easier' to be sick if you know what I mean. And if you have insurance theres no quibbling over what you are entitled to. If you're sick its paid for (maybe less a 250 Euro excess per year) whatever the cost.

I'm feeling much better! I nearly feel like a new woman!
I know we have quite a few members here who neglect us on the weekends, so I'll put out this reminder now to all our US members. Don't forget to change your clocks Saturday night before going to bed!!! Spring ahead, and I'm hoping 'spring' is the operative word.
