Sorry guys - been busy and forget to check these member photo threads - normally hang out in off topic or Eagles!

That is a Flying V shape but it's technically not a Flying V because it's not made by Gibson.

By the headstock it appears to be a Fernandes Guitar. But yes, for all intents and purposes it's a Flying V...but if you put that in your marketing info you'll get a cease and desist from Gibson!

ETA: Great photo BTW....Joe looks happier and healthier than he has in years.

These shots are from Tom Wright's Roadwork Book. They're pretty much spread all over the internet! Great stuff.

I think I got this story wrong. Was it Pete Townsend or Jimmy Page that sold a guitar Joe gave one of them or was somebody else?

It was Pete. The Who's finances were always very skwirly. Sometime in the 80's Pete sold one or two of the guitars he got from Joe. Please keep in mind that Pete paid Joe for the guitars. Pete says he actually needed the money when he sold them. I believe one sold for over $100,000. Pete claims he wasn't a millionaire until after the 1989 Who reunion tour. I find this hard to believe but I suppose anything is possible.

Thanks, MV. That's who I thought it was. I think I read Joe did sell one of his guitars to Jimmy, but the story I was thinking about was about Pete.
