It's funny, when I was in chorus at school they didn't encourage it!
The first person I ever noticed doing it was John Lennon.

ELP!! That takes me back. I used to listen to them in my youth.......which is a while ago now, I'm sad to say.
Further proof that quality music lives on and passes down through generations.
I had seen them, I think in 74 or 75...My boyfriend at that time was a radio DJ & he was madly crazy about them, so he took me to see them. At that time, I was not that nuts about them, but I sure listened to them A LOT, as he played them on the radio station religiously! I didn't really appreciate them at the time, but later they grew on me..
wow...so jealous of those of you who saw them back in the day!!!
My dad still tells me about an ELP show he saw at the Fillmore East in New York. Keith Emerson had his keyboard on a massively long extension cord and ran loops through the crowd playing a solo.

You can see the stars and still not see the light.
Yes, Keith Emerson was a wild man. I heard he even almost badly burned his hands during a pyro set on the stage....Maybe he's a bit calmer these days!Let's hope
Fellow ELP lover...The Works collection , ELP Works Volume 1 and Volume 2 are pretty good.
I saw Greg Lake live last year and did the VIP where I got to meet him. That was a thrill for sure.
Also Joe played on ELP's Works Vol 1 (mostly on Carl Palmer's part of the album) and Joe also was in a band with Keith Emerson in 1990 called The Best.
I also saw ELP in the 90's and met the whole band then as well. Keith Emerson is and was smokin' hot! And very nice too! (Like Joe, he ages like fine wine!)
