Border Rebel
Joan Baez
Just heard that there's a campaign to induct Joan Baez into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame so I thought I would mention it here.

I've only recently discovered her via her version of The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down but I totally love it:

Stuck on the Border
Re: Joan Baez
That was a big hit in the early 70s in America.
She made it into the Hall of Fame, by the way. The folk thing was before my time but apparently Ms. Baez was a sensation.
I was reading Judy Collins' autobiography recently and she describes the quasi-worshipful scene that was around Joan, who held a peace activist retreat in the Carmel area in the mid-60s that Judy attended. Collins wasn't being critical or sardonic - quite the opposite. They've been friends for decades and Judy sounds entranced, even a little bit in love with Joan, IMO.
