Thanks SS. I always liked Bread's music, but hadn't heard of them since the 70's. Could be interesting!

Thanks for the link, SS!
I do enjoy Bread's music - David Gates has an exquisite voice.
I must say, I love the title of the book. I enjoy the play on Bread's name. They did it too with one of their compilation albums, "Bread: Essentials". Love it!
I've got a peaceful, easy feeling
And I know Glenn won't let me down
I've been listening to Bread albums lately. I knew the better kniwn songs already, but I was shocked to find so many great album tracks.
When David Gates sings in a slightly more aggressive way (not the soft ballad thing) in those early albums his tone sounds similar to the Desperado era Glenn (the Outlaw Man style of singing) to me. I find myself loving Gates' voice whenever he sings a bit louder, but it's probably because it reminds me of Glenn!
Incidentally, I ordered the Bread book a couple of days ago. 😎
Oh, and an example of the Gates voice that reminds me of the young Glenn...Starts at 3:16. https://youtu.be/V6lM5QXdurU
I see what you're saying, chaim. I think a good example of this may be Mother Freedom. However, I think David's vocals have a lot more 'air' in them than Glenn's do - particularly in the ballads as you mentioned.
