Both of these are very important songs for the band and I love them both. However for me it has to be Lyin' Eyes, a song I have now been listening to for 32 years and I'm still not tired of it. Also once you have a 'special moment' that goes with it it becomes even more important.

And don't forget the Grammy. Can I say it was deserved.

While I am very bitter over the fact that Lyin' Eyes caused the demise of my all-time favorite Eagles song, TITTL, I have to put that aside. It is, IMHO, the second best song, and hence my final vote is....

I do hate to see TITTL go. It is a gorgeous song and Randy's Live version just blows me away.

Lyin' Eyes is equally gorgeous and Glenn's voice in it is perfect. It is so very "country rock". I love it, too.

But...it just doesn't "get me" as much as ONE OF THESE NIGHTS with Don's smoky, aching voice! That little air intake he does?

I VOTE FOR "LYIN' EYES" TO WIN!!!

Note: Yes, I do love "One Of These Nights" - in fact, it is one of my favourite Eagles songs (I hear you, Brooke, about Don's "smoky, aching voice" ), but when it came down to the crunch, I just had to vote for my Sugar's smooth, gentle, passionate country vocal. Oh, Glenn , when I finally meet you (and I will! ), my eyes will never lie to you, Sugar!

Sorry, I got a little distracted there for a moment... Yes, I was talking about the merits of "Lyin' Eyes". The lyrics are genius, as are the harmonies and instrumentation. The guitar work (credits to Bernie Leadon!) is brilliant - the riff, which is the intro and punctuates each chorus, is really unique and memorable. WOW, what a classic. This song has been a stalwart in my band's repertoire for a long time now. And it ALWAYS goes down well! (I ain't Glenn Frey, but I do try!)
