I'll go with Spanish Dancer
I'll go with Spanish Dancer
I will gladly join the coalition and vote for Spanish Dancer.
Does anyone want to talk about the song? Why is the weird guitar interlude included? I think it sounds like he stuck part of another song in the middle of this one.

And I dream I'm on vacation 'Cause I like the way that sounds,
It's a perfect occupation for me.
damn, I missed the first rounds, I cast my vote for Spanish Dancer
"For the record, we never broke up, we just took a 14-year vacation!"
(Glenn Frey)
I cast my vote for Spanish Dancer as well.
It's supposed to come across as sexy but Joe's voice doesn't convey that at all. Contrast this song with "Slow Dancing" where Joe's vocal is smoldering. He just doesn't seem to be feelin' it and neither am I.
i'll try again
spanish dancer
has to go .....just a strange song
Spanish Dancer
The first time I listened to Analog Man, I cringed when I first heard Spanish Dancer. Even tho it's grown on me a bit since then, it is definitely far from my favorite one on the album.
I vote for Spanish Dancer
He sings it high, he plays it low
Looks like Spanish Dancer is pretty well a goner so I'll vote for Funk 50. It's lovely guitar work but I'm not overly keen on the lyrics or the way Joe sings this one.
Spanish Dancer is okay, but I don't think it fits thematically with the rest of the album. I'll repeat what I said about the song when I wrote my review of the album. I’m not fond of the melody and Joe’s vocals in this one, and the rock music is disjointed with the very pretty Latino music. Most of Jeff Lynne’s contributions on this album are very commendable, but this idea was not one of those times. But once again, I love the lyrics – very mysterious and romantic. I would definitely vote to eliminate it this round, by since it doesn't need my vote, them I'm going to stick with strategy ...
I cast my vote for Analog Man.
