Oh my gosh, how cool is that??? What was the article about?
This is the opening paragraph:
"In 1990, the musician Don Henley of the rock group the Eagles founded the Walden Woods Project to protect a part of Walden Woods under threat of real-estate development. Here Henley talks about how Thoreau and Emerson contributed to his "spiritual awakening' and his commitment to the preservation of Walden Woods."
My book is called Elements of Literature Fifth Course if that matters lol.
I used that same textbook in high school. I had totally forgotten about it until I saw your post. I remember looking through the table of contents and being shocked to see Don's name. Of course I flipped straight to it and read the page about him. It was about how Don was influenced by Emerson and Thoreau. I believe the picture was from HFO.

Wow! I wonder what Don thinks of being mentioned in a textbook? Very proud, I'm sure!

Whitcap-yes I think the pic is from HFO. That's pretty cool that I'm using the same textbook as you did!
Koala-It's fun to have a textbook with him in it. Except for the fact that the book weighs about 100 pounds! That's cool that Elvis and Phil was in yours. I Genesis
Yet another reminder of the Eagles at school today... So I was in my Book Of Psalms class, and we were studying the 23rd psalm. That in itself reminded me of the LROOE lyrics.
It's great to be reminded of my favorite band on a daily basis
