Last night I was watching the movie Sex & The City 2 and one of the girls (Samantha/Kim Cattrall) made a comment "when hell freezes over"! Wonder where they got that?!

I always think about the "Oh My God" thing that has become a popular saying and wonder if it caught on from the line in Wasted Time or I remember Chandlers GF in Friends used to say it a lot, but who said it first....anybody know?

There is no more new frontier - we have got to make it here
The phrase "Oh my God" has been around forever! It appears in Renaissance writrings from the sixteenth century. More conservative areas, however, put the kibosh on the phrase as using the Lord's name in vain. Perhaps that was why you didn't hear it more. I know I was told never to use it.
People often get confused about such things, though. Look at "Take It Easy" - I have watched movies made as early as the 1930s where that phrase is commonplace (and I doubt those movies "invented" the phrase either), but some folks think the phrase wasn't in existence before the song came around.
Thanks for your in-depth reply Soda - I was going to delete it in hind-sight for being a stupid question - but too late - you'd answered

Went and saw the new Harry Potter movie yesterday. There's a part where they are trying to get out of a locked dungeon. Someone tells them to "meet me at the top of the stairs". I had to grin at the thought of Timothy.
He sings it high, he plays it low
I saw Harry Potter yesterday too! lol I have to admit, I was too caught up in the movie to think about Tim's song
I saw the Harry Potter movie on friday, and yes I must admit too, I also thought immediately of the song and had to grin!

I had a day off today and did some shopping and errand running in town. In one store someone named Shiloh was paged over the intercom. Of course I thought of Don H!
Then after I got home I was watching the local news and they told a story about a teen center named Common Ground. That reminded me of Glenn!
A good day! Which reminds me of Timothy!
