In reading this thread so far, just a reminder, we are voting for the SONG not the VIDEO (or the mullett ). And for all you voting off Boys Night Out already because it's so "80s", I can't wait to see what you say about Was It Just The Moonlight. I know it came out in 1990, but if you want to talk about trying to be a "pop artist", that one, in my opinion, is the epitome of it. And that video is really one that's hard to get around (since we are talking about videos). Of course his hair was growing out by then, so maybe you'll all be all right with it.
Now I seem to recall you remembering quite a bit about Guns N Roses when we were talking about them around the HOF induction. See, you remember some of it!!Originally Posted by Topkat

As I love Top of the Stairs... I vote for Boy's Night Out
Yes, when I thought about it, I do remember what I was listening to. I was a fan of G&R, but in the late 70's & early 80's I was hanging out in the punk clubs in NYC & listening to Blondie, the Talking Heads & the Police, also some bands like The Clash & the Stone Roses. I have never been a fan of "pop", MJ, or Madonna or the "Hair Bands" of the 80's.
I do think they were trying to turn TBS into a "pop star" which is why I didn't follow his career at that time. I was very disappointed in the direction he was going. I didn't follow the other Eagles when they split up, only Don Henley when he did "The End of the Innocence" which made me take notice of him again.
When the Eagles reunited in 94', I was totally back with them. I thought they were so much better as a band than they were individually. Just MHO.
My vote this round goes to White Boy From Sacramento. While I find it to be a clever self-portrait put to music, in my opinion it just isn't 'greatest hits' material.
You were just too busy being FABULOUS....
