For some reason I've lost my task bar at the bottom of my screen. The Start button shows, but nothing else......I usually had the Chrome, IE, and Itunes buttons there and it was in a bar across the screen.....????????????? Anyone know what I should do?

That bar is called the Quick Launch, sounds like it was deleted.

If that site doesn't work, then it may be a corrupted file in Windows or another setting.

Thanks for that guys! I did finally get that back!

    Now, a new problem!

Yesterday I went to use Microsoft Word and Excel and everything I had used is gone! I can find the files, but they won't open. I get a message that Click to Run configuration failed. WTH!

Anyone know how to fix this?

My standard approach to errors is to cut and paste the error text into Google and that will show up lots of people with the same problem and hopefully a few solutions.

    Thanks UtW!

I did a system restore and I can now at least open the Office Starter program, but my documents do not come up. I can now at least make new ones, but it was very time saving to just update what I had already created. I can find the list if I go in to Office Starter from the start menu, but they won't open from there.

Ok, I figured it out! After about 18 hours of frustration! I had to start a new document, save it, and then go back in the program and my old ones were in 'recent places'!

Ugh! I hope no one else EVER has this problem!

I am sorry to hear of all these problems. I hate when my PC acts up. I've had mine for 6 years now, but luckily it's lasted way longer than I expected.

I was going to ask, is there a general folder you keep your Word documents?

Also, if you ever have trouble finding any kind of document, sometimes if all else fails, I go to my "Start" button, type in the search area any name that may resemble the name of the file and usually the computer will find it within seconds and the root folder of where it's located, which is great!!

Thought this may help in the future

So you uninstalled Chrome? That shouldn't affect other browsers. What browser are you using now?

You might try clearing cache. Between IE and Firefox, I prefer Firefox. I like Chrome the best though. IE still to this day has issues with websites though smilies shouldn't be affected.
