We need a new printer, scanner, copier. I'd like one that can print decent photos. Any suggestions?

HP all the way.. Especially since you said Photos.

Not really picky on the model - any of the Photosmarts are good. I use a wireless one here that is hooked into our network/router so we can print from anywhere in the house, and even remotely if we so desire.

Austin, I need your expertise again.

My laptop had been giving a lot of trouble over the summer and I left it in for repair. They have replaced the hard disc and generally overhauled it. The also wiped quite a number of programmes which I had added, mainly by CD (I guess they were on the old hard drive).

Anyway I've been reinstalling some stuff.

But, itunes was gone from the computer, so I went onto the site and downloaded it again. However, when I try to get into it (and I need this to sync my iphone and ipad) I get the following error message:

'the file I Tunes library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes'

The only option I have then is to click 'ok' which closes the programme. Not much good to me though!!

Any idea what I can do?

    1- Uninstall iTunes
2 - Go to your "personal" folder (user folder) and find the Music/My Music folder
3 - Delete the iTunes folder
4 - Go to your personal folder again and go to documents and make sure there isn't any music folders there, and if there is - delete them.
    4 - Reinstall iTunes

The library will rebuild and have a new copy...

IMPORTANT: Only do this if you have your music on something other than the PC (iPod, other PC, CD's, iTunes store, etc)

So just to get this right Austin, I must back my music onto a 'third party' device, and delete my entire music library from the computer while doing this?

I have it on an external hard drive. Will that do?

That'll work. But yes, uninstall itunes, delete the itunes folders, and reinstall.
