Another Google alert to Billboard Magazine's To 200: http://www.billboard.com/column/char...2.story?page=2
EAGLE FLIES SOLO:Glenn Frey debuts on the Billboard 200 for the first time since 1988, when "Soul Searchin' " reached No. 36, as his new jazz-influenced pop standards album "After Hours" (his first studio set since "Strange Weather" in 1992, which fell short of the Billboard 200) bows at No. 116.
There is a bit more to the article but it is mostly a repeat of what Glenn has said in other interviews on "After Hours".
That is excellent news! I was hoping AFTER HOURS would debut higher, but I doubt it's getting much radio play so I'm sure it's done as well as it has due to Glenn's tireless radio and press availablity. I hope it continues to sell and that it can prove all the naysayers wrong.
Look, I'm happy with that. Congratulations to him. It's been a long time.
I'm delighted for him too. A lot of positivity is coming out between the concerts and now this.

Glenn Frey 1948-2016 RIP
I'm so happy for Glenn! This is great news! Maybe he will schedule some more dates!

Is this person listening to the same album as we are? The article is very complimentary to Glenn, but certainly not to the arrangements of the songs on AH.If, on the other hand, you’re a fan of the great singers of the era of great singers (Frank Sinatra, Dinah Washington, Tony Bennett, Nat Cole, Judy Garland, Billie Holiday – so many more) it’s hard to find much in this set to get overly excited about. It’s not so much that Frey isn’t an excellent vocalist, it’s just that these arrangements don’t do a lot to showcase that fact. Considering that Frey was noted among The Eagles as “The Lone Arranger” it’s a bit of a disappointment.
Where’s Nelson Riddle when you need him?
