    Default Glenn's Equipment

Guys, I was thinking of dedicating a section of GFO to Glenn's equiment - his favorite guitars, pianos, mics, etc. The only problem - I don't really know anything about it! If anyone knows some of his instruments, please post them here!

The only things I know: he plays some Takamine and Rickenbacker (sp?) guitars.

I can't remember the details, but didn't Glenn have his own guitar designed for him at one point?

I've seen one of these advertised on Ebay.

Why yes, GEF - I do believe that is what I was thinking about. I knew I could count on you! Am I the only one that thinks it very sad that this company designs a guitar in Glenn's name, and then can't even spell his name right in an ad!

I believe I've seen him playing a Les Paul or two as well, in addition to the Takamine 12 string and the Rickenbacher that you've pointed out

Thanks Maleah! And I was thinking earlier today - wasn't "Old Black" a Gibson?

Old Black is indeed a Gibson Les Paul, as is the nice sunburst red guitar he plays.

I only know this because my son has a replica version.

Lovely. This is just what I need. Thanks guys. It's time like these when I wish I had more of a clue about such things.

For a while he has used a different shape mic to the other band members:

First this one, whereas the others used the standard 'round' one although when Don was at the drums he used this shape:

Then he started using a dark coloured mic, again with a more oval shape than that used by the others:

But when he plays solo shows he reverts to the standard 'round grey' model. I would love to know why a) with the band his mic is a different shape b) why he then doesn't use it solo.
