Those photos were great - too bad only half of them were actually of the Eagles!

I would say we are still waiting for the first really well-written Eagles book, and I think this one has a chance to be it

This should be a good one. Ben Fong Torres is an outstanding rock journalist. he played in the '78 softball game with them and was even portrayed in "Almost Famous". I really enjoyed his book on Gram Parsons, "Hickory Wind".

I wouldn't be surprised if he got the cooperation from many (if not all of the band members). As far as I know, he is not an Eagles hater like many of the jealous and snobby San Fran & NY journos who hate all things L.A. (ie. Eagles), most notably Rolling Stone fruitcake editor and supreme a-hole Jann Wenner and the bitter and very dead Lester Bangs respectively.

Anyway, it could be definitive and I look forward to reading it (despite leaving Bernie off the cover )

I agree. Ben Fong-Torres' writing should be lively.

I'll wait and see. I have the last Eagles book which is great - although a lot of it is about other musicians - but I got Felder's book and (Marc Eliot?) "Take It To The Limit" out of the library. I wasn't particularly impressed with either of those.

New photos would be great, as would interviews with the band - and then actually quoting them and not putting "Henley claims" or "according to Henley" before everything he said when other people's comments are given as facts.

    Okay, rant over.

The DJ on Sirius channel Classic Rewind just mentioned this upcoming book and said it's suppose to include backstage, recording sessions, tour and interviews from the beginning through the 2010 tour. Don't know if she actually knows anything or not but if so, maybe there is hope for some new stuff here.

    BTW--they're now playing FITFL.

Hmm, now that I know more about the author I might go ahead and pre-order. It sounds like he knows his stuff, and won't just be a regurgitation of articles like some other Eagles books have been.

It is sounding better all the time. I haven't pre ordered it ....... yet but will be getting it when it comes out in Sept here. Well I only have 2 Eagles books ( or is it 3?), so I obviously need more to have a collection.

I like his book on Gram Parsons too, so maybe this one will be quite good.
