Never heard of them, Carla. But, you are right, I absolutely do appreciate great harmonies!

I saw Supertramp tonight live in London, and it was SENSATIONAL! I wrote this in an email to one of my friends who is a fan of theirs, so I'll post it here as a sort of mini-review:
Well, I'm home - a little sleepy and hoarse - but totally on a high! It was an INCREDIBLE show. No support act, no interval, just two hours of solid music. The tour is called "70-10", so they played all of the songs you'd expect from their back catalogue; Breakfast In America, Rudy, Give A Little Bit, From Now On, Crime Of The Century (this was their last song), It's Raining Again, Take The Long Way Home, The Logical Song, Goodbye Stranger...
Rick Davies was on top form - his piano playing was amazing to watch close-up on the screen, and his voice is as fantastic as ever. I knew they were going to be good, but they were better than I could have imagined. Roger Hodgson isn't touring with them, but Jesse Siebenburg (son of their drummer, Bob Siebenburg) is outstanding - his voice is very similar to Roger's and he sings songs like Dreamer and Give A Little Bit flawlessly.
John Helliwell, the saxophonist, was front and centre for most of the concert, and he was pretty charismatic and got the audience going. I've never seen anyone play "air piano" as enthusiastically (and accurately!) as he does.
They also played Downstream, which was really beautiful. They had a video screen behind them with images of a lake, which was calming and obviously fitted the song. The screen was used to great effect during Rudy, when it basically took you on a high-speed, black and white train ride. The camera was zooming down the tracks and around bends, and it was really cool with the music pounding through your body. You really felt like you were hurtling along through the countryside!
The encore was comprised of School, Dreamer, and Crime Of The Century. The actual playing just blew me away. Some songs seemed to go on forever - imagine complete, over the top, exquisite jamming! - and I loved every minute of it. I was just in awe of the way those guys played. It was cool that the piano, drums and sax basically dominated the show, too - the electric guitar only took centre stage a couple of times, which I guess is quite unusual in a rock band!
I really hope other people get the chance to see them, because you will be completely blown away.
you better put it all behind you, baby, 'cause life goes on
you keep carrying that anger, it'll eat you up inside--
I would love to see them Troub. Your review was fun to read. I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself. It's always nice when something is better than anticipated!

And I dream I'm on vacation 'Cause I like the way that sounds,
It's a perfect occupation for me.
I love Supertramp!! My favorite is Breakfast In America-every song on that album rocks.
So glad you enjoyed yourself. Sounds like it was a great concert!!
He sings it high, he plays it low
That's the only album of theirs I had and you're right - I loved that whole album. Never replaced it though.

I'm off to see The Gaslight Anthem tomorrow night. I'm so excited! Please check them out, if you haven't heard of them. They're kind of punk-rock, but Brian Fallon has a fantastic voice, and they've got some beautiful slower songs... GREAT lyrics, too. Please give them a listen!!!

Have a great time Lou! I love the vid where the Gaslight Anthem guy is talking about Bruce being "completely genuine and nice to us." So sweet!
