    Default RIP Gary Moore

Bandmates of former Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore have paid tribute to a "great player and great guy" following his death on holiday in Spain.

The 58-year-old, originally from Belfast, was found dead in a hotel room on the Costa del Sol in the early hours of Sunday.

Gary Moore was one of the really GREAT Blues guitarists EVER. Both vocally and instrumentally, he stayed at the top. Ironic that he did not gain the fame that was due him.

I was saddened when I heard this. Gary Moore was a fantastic guitarist. I am a big Thin Lizzy fan, too.

This is so devastating!! My hubby's cousin is his biggest fan and turned me on to him once again about a year ago. He in fact sent me a message just yesterday on FB saying "you contact Jimmy Page and I'll contact Gary Moore and get them to perform together and call themselves Moore Pages". I had to let him know when I found out earlier today and he's been posting his videos on his FB since. Here's one of his faves.

This will shock my husband who saw Gary Moore live several times. He's gone to join Phil Lynott... NB a comment after this video speculates on how he died & I make no comment.

I suppose it's all a part of "growing old" but me and my brother were talking on the phone last night about a TV programme that was on a couple of weeks ago that we both saw and he said he kept saying to his wife 'He's brilliant'...... he's dead now....... it's such a shame
