Thanks Koala - could be the copious amount of wine i've drunk tonight, but I felt the urge to leave a comment!

There is no more new frontier - we have got to make it here
Hi everyone! I can't tell you how great it is to be able to post about another Eagles concert--I thought their last concert in Birmingham would be the last time I would get to see them. My friend Lynda and & just got back from Atlanta, and the show although short, was fantastic.
Biggest surprise: they opened up with Seven Bridges Road! I have always wanted to hear that live so I was thrilled. We got to the park at 4 pm and waited for an hour for them to open the gates, and as we were waiting we heard them singing Seven Bridges Road in their sound check. I was hoping that meant they would sing it, and they did. The key was a little different than the record but it still sounded great. All the guys looked great too. Joe looks thinner but I really like his longer blonde hair. Don now has a gray goatee and his hair is the natural gray too. He looked FINE. *sigh* We were standing third row center left, right in front of the stage in front of Timothy (Lynda's favorite) and Don, perfect sightlines.
They sang their abbreviated set list, so the only song we got from LROOE was How Long. Although I miss Don drumming, selfishly I like him being out front now so I can see him. His voice was fabulous, he holds a guitar on most songs, and on a few songs he even took the mic off the mic stand and walked around with it, like he does in his solo shows. Witchy Woman was a highlight--he really got into it, shaking the tamborine and wailing. When Glenn was doing the introductions he said "On dr--I mean percussion--guitar and lead vocals, my friend from Linden Texas, Don Henley."
They hardly talked at all, which was a disappointment. Glenn didn't do his usual corny jokes, and they only time he really asked us to sing along was during Lying Eyes. I expected Don to make some mention of the fact that this was a Green Concert for Piedmont Park, but he didn't. Still, they were in fine form, sounded fantastic, and grinned and waved several times at us in the first few rows. The weather was perfect for an outdoor concert, clear and cool with a sliver of moon over the Atlanta skyline.
Second biggest surprise: They came back for a second oncore AFTER Desperado! I was already picking up my stuff to head out since I have never seen them do that before, and the next thing I know Don was back center stage and said, "Do you want another song?" We all screamed like crazy and he said, "I'll take that as a yes." Then he went over to the side to talk to Glenn and came back out front and said, "Give us a moment to get ready--this was a surprise decision." The "mighty horn" section had already taken off their black coats and came back out in an assortment of different t-shirts--pretty funny. They decided on All She Wants To Do is Dance, and Glenn of course danced all over the stage, and it was terrific--it brought down the house (I mean--park).
I bought a great t-shirt designed especially for this show. The design is an Eagle with its wings made out of gray leaves, and the middle of the design the leaves are green like a tree, and it says "Eagles, The Green Concert, Piedmont Park Atlanta Ga, Oct 15, 2010."
