Finally done with the review...
Life In The Fast Lane is a great rocker and I think it’s a good song to end the set with before going into the encore. I like seeing Glenn and Tim do there little guitar lean move (whatever you call it) together during that one part of the song…does anybody understand what i’m referring to here? I just can’t think of any other way to describe it. Anyways, I like seeing those two do that. It’s cute. I always hope to hear Don say the “Are you with me so far?” part but he didn’t do it. I don’t think he’s said that at any of the concerts I’ve been to.
The encores!! Yup, that’s right. They did TWO encores this time. I hadn’t seen them do two encores since I saw them for the first time in Tulsa in 2008. I was so happy that they did it this time. Rocky Mountain Way is such a cool song. All of the guys were totally into it. I saw Glenn dancing a little bit and every time I looked at Don he was totally rocking to this song. He was really getting with it on those drums. I also noticed that when Joe was on the talk box Glenn seemed to really be into it. It was like he was in awe of Joe’s playing. I didn’t mind one bit but it seemed like Joe did this part a little bit longer than usual. Glenn even reached over to get a drink of water.
Take It Easy was next. This song totally brings me back to the road trip. You’d think that I would be tired of hearing it after we got stranded in Winslow on the road trip but I honestly love it even more now. I had a huge smile on my face when Glenn sang “Standin’ on a corner in Winslow, Arizona.” I let myself get completely wrapped up in the lyrics and groove of this song. I don’t think I was the only one either because everybody around me was on their feet and singing along. The guys got a huge round of applause at the end of this song and people were still clapping even after they left the stage. A few people started to leave but I knew that it wasn't over yet.
I was a little unsure if they were even going to do this next song but I knew they were once I saw Glenn walking to the right side of the stage to take his place at the piano. I know that some are upset about Don getting another song on the setlist but All She Wants To Do Is Dance really gets the crowd going. A lot of people were dancing in the isles, including myself. And it’s always wonderful to see Glenn dancing too. He’s such a cutie when he dances. I got a few pics of him dancing but he sure does move a lot so most of them came out blurry but there’s a couple of decent ones.
Desperado **SIGH** This is my all-time favorite Eagles song but it makes me sad when they start it because I know that the concert is coming to an end. Don was wonderful on this one. I didn’t hear any difference but I noticed him adjusting the pack thing on his side a few times (I’m not sure what that thing is actually called). I finally got a good pic of Don after he sings “You better let somebody love you” and then he points to the audience. I love that he let’s the audience sing that part.
I always love seeing them get together and bow at the end and I’ve tried to get a good pic of that at every concert I’ve been to. The good thing was that the way the seats were set up, the isles led straight to the stage and we were on the center isle in section F3 on Joe's side so once the lights went down after Desperado I hurried to the stage to get closer to the guys. A lot of people had the same idea but there was only one person in front of me and the stage so I had a pretty good view. They came to our side first and they all seemed very appreciative of the responses they got from the Wichita crowd. I blew kisses to all of the guys but sadly none were returned. Christi was standing right behind me and she swears that Don smiled and waved at me but I don’t think that was for me. It was kinda hard to tell but I think he did that to someone next to me or the person standing in front of me. Who knows? It was still cute of him to do that. Joe tossed a pic to someone standing a few people over to the right of me and someone else try to snag it from him and a security guard had to stop the guy trying take it from Joe’s intended receiver. Glenn had a guitar pic too but I didn’t see him give it to anyone. There was a little boy in the front row pretty close to center stage that I noticed got a lot of attention from the guys. I saw Tim give him a guitar pic just before leaving for intermission. He literally stepped off the stage onto the steps that the stage crew uses to give the pic to the little boy. The boy looked to be about 5 or 6 years old. At the end of the concert Joe gave him a pic too and Don gave him some drumsticks. Don was walking away and then turned back. He was walking back towards the boy and next thing I see is Don sitting down at the edge of the stage and a man, who i'm assuming is the boys father, picked him up and handed him to Don. Don had the boy sitting on his knee as he posed for a few pics with him. It was such a wonderful and cute moment. Afterwards, everybody gave Don a big round of applause for doing that. That boy was incredibly lucky that night. Wow!! He’ll be able to tell that story for years to come.
I went into this concert knowing that it probably wouldn’t be able to top me and Lou’s front row experience in San Jose but I still knew that I would have a great time and the guys would put on a great show. I did have a great time and the guys were amazing like always!! I gotta say though, like Brooke said about the concert in St. Louis, I have a feeling that this was my last Eagles concert. With no other tour dates nearby, I just don’t see it happening again. With that feeling in mind, I took in every single song played and every single moment that happened during this concert. I wanted to make every moment last in my mind for as long could. I will definitely try to go if they come around my area again but I just have a feeling that it won’t happen. But you never know….It could happen again!!!
