What's Happening In Your Life?

Tough year. Lost the other Aunt this afternoon. She never really regained consciousness after the multiple heart valve replacement. Poor thing. Her organs just shut down...liver, kidneys, pancreas, gall bladder, stomach....she was totally kept alive by artificial means. Just wasn't meant to be. The heart part of the surgery was a total success but she was just too far gone with the other things that even though her heart was up to the task given it, it was just too much to come back from. They had her on 24/7 dialysis supposedly for 2 weeks to see if they could get her kidneys functioning on their own thinking that if they got that going, maybe her liver would kick back in. But this morning the dialysis had to be taken away because of blood pressure complications.

This is rather tough under any circumstances, but losing two Aunts within a weeks time....that's tough. And, we are not out of the woods yet. I still have a mother-in-law and a father-in-law that are in very serious condition and needing a lot of care.

Cami, sounds like you and I are on the same kinda work schedule. I work 4 to midnight but I still stay awake till about 5 or 6am everyday. It's hard to get out of that habit when there are times that I need to be up early in the morning. And believe me, I definitely know what it's like to get blamed for everything by customers. I deal with that everyday at work.

Oh Willie, i still get really angry and upset every time I think about what happened to Tally. Nothing's changed yet about the situation but the fight isn't over.

I'm off to my hometown to spend Christmas with my family. I was so surprised when my boss told me that I got Christmas Eve off. I put in for it but I really didn't think I would get that day off work because the casino is always so busy on holidays. I still have to work on Christmas day but since I have Christmas Eve off I won't have to leave until about noon on Christmas day. Thankfully I at least get to spend part of Christmas with my family. Not sure if I'll have internet access while I'm there so just in case I can't get online I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!! Happy Holidays everybody!!

Jess - glad you got the holiday off (in part) - and good for you about fighting to make sure this kind of thing never happens again to Tally or anyone else with special needs. (And BTW that lame cover up attempt pissed me off!)

I do appreciate all of your condolences. They do mean a lot. I realize that the generation ahead of me is reaching the outer markers (airport slang).....but that doesn't make it any easier to lose them does it? The really scary thing is that my Aunt was only 12 years older than I. Her poor body was completely worn out.

Hello Everyone! Happy Post holidays! well, new years is still to come, but the majority of the Holiday press is over for me and Im feeling pretty good about it.

My parents really surprised us with a Wii! and Sarah hasnt been off it since! The up side is we'll all be getting more exercise! Sarah and I have both promised to eat healthier after New years and Wii daily (she wont have a problem with that *G*) I also received 3 pairs of slippers (all I really asked for this year *G*) which I am very happy with.

I love Christmas and the season, but I am so looking forward to getting back to normal (?) whatever that is... and SPRING!!! Ahhhh Spring! Im already looking for my seed catalogs in the mail and planning the garden. I'll be planting LESS green beans this year and putting in some broccoli and maybe some corn. I cant wait!

Jenni asked us if she could have a New Years party here, and I think we'll let her. So Cliff, Sarah and I will be going to my parents house for New Years and my cousin and her daughter will be joining us so we'll have a great time.

Today is Cliff's birthday but we're celebrating really low key. I made a big pot of home made turkey Italian Wedding Soup (his fav) and an ice cream cake.

I'll also be treating myself to a deep tissue massage this week as I have a pretty nasty cink in my neck/shoulder and have for a little more then a week now. Im pretty sure it's stressed induced. My cousin is a masseuse so I'll give her a call.

I hope you all had wonderful and warm holiday with loved ones and that Santa was very good to you. I didnt get any Eagle-ly goodies this year, but I *did* get a little Christmas $$$ so I'll be Eagle-ly shopping *G*
