We had one heck of a line of storms that hit here last night. Larry and I were at a local bar having fish dinner and it moved in so quickly because of the heat & humidity. I realized I had forgotten my cell phone and Larry never carries his. We weren't sure which would be more upset at home, daughter or dogs. The power went out and so we hurried home (only 3 blocks away) but took awhile because the rain was going sideways and the tree was down across our neighbors car across the street. When we arrived, we were greeted by our 17 year old and 2 very nervous upset dogs. Boy was she p*ssed because no power, dogs freaking out, trees coming down and Mom & Dad not carrying cell phones. Please realize, she does have a flair for the dramatic.

Anyways, come to find out, a substation caught on fire during the storm and knocked out all the power for a 45 mile radius. We were scrambling this morning when we were told no power till possibly Monday. Some areas had power and one of our friends did so we loaded up the full freezer and took it to her house to save all our frozen food. Get home and an hour later, the electric comes back on but we have been told not to get to use to it because it will be sporadic for a few days as they replace fallen polls and wires all over the place. So far so good. Just got back home from a friends cookout and still several people in our community, especially out in the country, without power and are being told could be Wednesday before they are up and running. Since it's in the 90's again this afternoon and they are calling for more storms possibly today and tomorrow while this weather is so hot & humid. We are so very lucky but this town looks like a war zone right now.

I really wish my ticket situation would have worked out but then again, I had no blow dryer and curling iron for my hair (and anyone who has seen pictures of me knows that this big hair needs to be tamed) and how do you get ready for an Eagles concert without electric to make ya beautiful? I would of scared Timothy to death in this humidity!
