I would LOVE this but... $399 for a T-shirt? No way, Jose!

That's interesting. First I want to say that when I look at Ebay I have to actively control myself from writing to sellers to tell them they're crazy over insane prices just like this. However, I don't recall ever hearing about this show. Was Glenn a solo artist at this time, opening?? Wonder why his name is tops like that. Gee, I love Boz Scaggs. Did the artists below play w/FM?

Yeah - that price is obscene. I sure hope no one is foolish enough to pay that price.
And I'm sure Soda knows all the details, but it sounds like to me that Fleetwood Mac hosted the benefit and invited Glenn, Don, Joe, and Boz Scaggs to make guest appearances. The seller lists the date as 1982, so it would definitely be post-Eagles.

Glenn Frey 11/06/1948 - 01/18/2016
This is a benefit for the City of Hope Cancer Research Hospital. At the time, Fleetwood Mac was touring for Mirage, and Glenn Frey was their opening act (he was touring for No Fun Aloud). However, for this night only, Don, Joe, and Boz Scaggs dropped in as well.
Boz played "Lowdown" with Glenn's band backing; Joe Walsh played "Rocky Mountain Way" with Glenn's band backing.
Don came out during Fleetwood Mac's set and did "Leather and Lace" with Stevie, the rest of FM backing them.
Ooooh now thats a gig I'dve loved to have seen

So Don, Glenn and Joe were in the same place at the same time(unless Glenn left before Don came on stage) after the breakup(which was officially announce that same year of this benefit concert)? Hmm Interesting.
I have to admit, if I were to win the lottery between now and when the bidding ends, I'd probably buy the shirt... Then again, I'd likely have a stroke at the shock of winning and not do anything.

You can't change the world but you can change yourself.
Oh yes! All those same thoughts were going thru my head when I looked at the back of that t-shirt. That's why I asked about it. Can you imagine the disappointment the audience must have felt when Glen, Don & Joe didn't play together? Tho, in '82 we might NOT have known yet that the band was broken up. Strangely they didn't come out w/the news for quite some time. I think most of Joe's interviews from '81-'93 he says they're just on hiatus. Which, technically, I guess they were.

I can only speak for myself, and when No Fun Aloud was released and Glenn did interviews to promote it, he made it clear the band had broken up.
The breakup was officially announced in May 1982, and this show was in October. I guess Joe was engaging in wishful thinking when he talked about the band not really being broken up, or maybe he had a premonition.
There probably were fans hoping desperately that Don would come out and play with Joe and Glenn, even if just for one song, and who left disappointed. You know the event organizers must have suggested it. Perhaps the guys felt that doing so would make people think the band wasn't really broken up after all and thus refrained. Maybe there were hard feelings. It is interesting, though.
