Mine, too. The powerful vocals of Ronnie James Dio added to the layers of guitar in rock music. He was a top choice for the lead vocals in the ultra-loud groups he often sang for.
I'm just devastated by this!! I had just heard a couple weeks ago that he was doing a lot better. I was in the garage yesterday when my daughter came out, almost in tears herself, to tell me he had died. So very very sad.
RIP Ronnie!!!

Although Heavy Metal is not my style of music, there is no doubt that Ronnie had a very powerful voice. My heart goes out to his family and friends. RIP Ronnie.

I just received this in an email and thought I'd pass it on.
Message from Wendy Dio
Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.

Willie, I had heard he was doing better, too.
Such a shame. Metal head hubby and my metal head son, Tom are both in mourning.
Ronnie is supposedly the one who started the "devil horns" hand thing you see so many metalheads doing now. People claimed he was glorifying satan doing this, but he said he learned that from his Sicilian grandmother who was very superstitious and supposedly it's a way to ward off people putting a curse on you.
Oh Lord... A true icon we lost. Great singer.

Leave something good behind.
