There is no more new frontier - we have got to make it here
OK guys, who do you think Joe is talking about here?
[regarding the line "My Maserati does 185; I lost my license - now I don't drive."]
"I had a friend, who I won't name, but he's in the band... he had three accidents in, like, ten blocks trying to drive home one time."
I think we can eliminate Tim...
(BTW Joe makes fun of Bernie a bit in the interview! Just a little though, lol)
And Joe thinks the Eagles have another album in them and they're going to talk about that this year???? OH MY GOSH can you imagine???
Excellent.
In Tim Part One there were some rather pointed comments about wanting to have everyone in the studio & not just send 'mixes' by email; I'm glad one of his favourites is One More Mile which is 'un-Eagles', less polished. The Eagles could learn something from this approach as they could from his mention of how he approached the backing vocals on Downtime.
Interesting to hear his comments about Jean (her middle name like all the best people - I did know that). I was hoping for more information on who exactly I Don't Mind is about....
Joe: It's great to hear out of his mouth that he has an album coming out.
Korea - they haven't been there before. Their 'own private shelling from the North'....
He says 'I HAD a friend but he's in THE band'. I doubt he means the Eagles but it's possible I suppose.
He's wrong about when Life's Been Good came out. It was released in 1978. He joined the Eagles at the end of 1975.
We know that Tim is about to start work on another solo album & that Don has two in the works. I suppose otherwise, all some of us can do is continue to hope.
However, his last comment is the one we have to cling to. Let's hope it happens. Thanks to them both for being so open & forthcoming.
I commented on Joe's first because it was shorter. Now my comments on Tim's interviews:
Tim's desire to have everyone in his studio - no "file sharing" technique - is charming. That he was passionate enough about it to exclude anyone who couldn't show up - that's serious! But he is very tactful about the use of files nonetheless, I noticed. He also called up folks himself - Tim is so "down home" and humble. It's also so sweet how he talks about Jean!
I hadn't heard how close Tim came to being drafted to Vietnam before.
Did I miss something or did they just skip right over "I Don't Mind"?
They did. I think the title was mentioned but the song was not discussed at all.
Wow - I can't wait to listen to these!
you better put it all behind you, baby, 'cause life goes on
you keep carrying that anger, it'll eat you up inside--
Iwas able to listen to part of Joe's today during lunch, but I can't wait to hear everything!

And I dream I'm on vacation 'Cause I like the way that sounds,
It's a perfect occupation for me.
