Here's the part about the Eagles.

    "FRIDAY 08: EAGLES
Somewhere in America every night, a bar band is butchering one of the Eagles’ classic songs, probably “Hotel California,” “Take It Easy” or “The Long Run.” But witnessing the Eagles perform four-part harmonies live is worth paying your bills late that month to afford a ticket to one of the band’s shows. The Eagles also are one of the few groups that have split up only to have the various members all go on to successful solo careers. Sure, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Glenn Frey can stand on their own, but something distinct happens when they hook up with Timothy B. Schmit and roll out hit after hit. Like Cher and the Rolling Stones, every tour since 2004 has been rumored to be the band’s farewell tour. But it appears to be a good sign for Eagles fans that the band isn’t really going anywhere."

Not quite sure what the part I highlighted is suppose to mean really.

I guess it means that it takes all four of them to sound like The Eagles.

Thanks for posting that link Willie. Didn't have time to read it all yet, but you know I will.

And I agree with PM about it the writer meaning it takes all four of them to achieve the sound of the Eagles.

Listening to Classic Vinyl on Sirius... according to the DJ, after the 3 remaining shows in the states and in Australia, we won't be seeing them as a band for years because "all" of them have solo albums done or in the works. Went on to mention Don's plans for 2 albums and says Joe's album is done and sources say due to be released after the first of the new year.

How true the above is is anyone's guess. I do have a hard time with the "all" part. There's been no mention of anything from Glenn has there? And I don't recall actually hearing a set time of Joe's album being released.

Has there been any more announcements since Joe did that Eagles radio call-in show in August? He said he was 4/5's done with his new record, and since there weren't anymore record companies, he didn't know exactly how it was going to proceed. I know he was just kidding, but beginning of the year is good for me. I'll definitely be freakin'. The first new stuff in 18 years!! I'm guessing he'd take some kind of break when he's done being an Eagle and then tour solo. I'm hoping. ...sooner is better than later just 'cause I can't wait.

I would prefer to believe a direct quote from a band member.

No, there has been absolutely no mention of Glenn making an album, and I think it may have been Glenn himself who was quoted as saying that next year they will be on the road for six months.
