I second Do Something. Some of these may not exactly constitute "advice", but they all mean something, or include particular lyrics that make me think about the way I live my life.

Ain't Wastin' Time No More - Allman Brothers Band
    Simple Things - Paolo Nutini
    Don't Stop - Fleetwood Mac
For The Good Times - Al Green
    Beautiful - Carole King
Here And Now - Del Amitri
The Heart Of The Matter - Don Henley
    Exodus - Bob Marley
What Happens Tomorrow - Duran Duran
    Butterflies and Hurricanes - Muse
    Natural Woman - Carole King
Pencil Full Of Lead - Paolo Nutini
    My Way - Frank Sinatra
    Phenomenal Woman - Ruthie Foster
I Will Not Go Quietly - Don Henley
You Can Get It If You Really Want - Jimmy Cliff
Comin' Up Easy - Paolo Nutini
    Take It Easy - Eagles
    Rubber Ring - The Smiths
    Time - Pink Floyd

you better put it all behind you, baby, 'cause life goes on
you keep carrying that anger, it'll eat you up inside--

Wow! I will give it a go. Some of these may just include sentiments that I find inspiring (to echo Troub's post).

    Take It Easy - Eagles
Learn To Be Still - Eagles
You Are Not Alone - Eagles
    Do Something - Eagles
Part Of Me, Part Of You - Glenn Frey
    Common Ground - Glenn Frey
    Hey Jude - Beatles
    Let It Be - Beatles
    Strawberry Fields Forever - Beatles
    Tomorrow Never Knows - Beatles
Brothers In Arms - Dire Straits
    Why Worry - Dire Straits
    Solid Rock - Dire Straits
Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin
    Heroes - David Bowie
    Respect - Aretha Franklin
    Stayin' Alive - Bee Gees
You'll Never Walk Alone - Gerry & the Pacemakers
    Days - The Kinks
    Solsbury Hill - Peter Gabriel
You Can't Always Get What You Want - Rolling Stones
Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel

That is more than 20 and is probably just scratching the surface, and if the same aritsts keep turning up in these lists that is just how it is with me. Some of these songs were in my 'motivational songs' list on page 4 of this topic. I need to find songs by other artists.

This is my favorite song because I take the advise of the lyrics (and it rocks) -

    Peace Of Mind - Boston
    ~ Cathy ~

And I dream I'm on vacation 'Cause I like the way that sounds,
It's a perfect occupation for me.

Probably opening a great BIG can of worms here but I'm interested to see what others say. My list is rather short right now--I'm either a fan of almost all music or I'm brain dead right now and this is all I can think of. I promise not to hold it against anyone about their list (unless it includes, Zep, Cars or Sweet!!)
List Bands You Do NOT Like

    ANY country band (sorry!)
    The Who
    Metallica
    Kiss
The Beatles (tho I admit--some of you here have made me think differently the last couple of years and I now have several Beatles/Lennon songs on my ipod!)

The only bands I can think of that I don't like are Abba and Blondie.

    Pink Floyd

Sorry to all you fans, but their sound in general puts me to sleep!
