As some of you may have guessed, the song Avocado comes from my own personal experience (or in this case non-experience) with the elusive fruit.
But those days are over! Today I made some guacamole to have with our Mexican dinner tonight. Now mind you I haven't had a chance to eat any of it yet (I did have a little taste of the avocado), but the point is I'm trying something I've never had before all because of The Border!
    ~ Cathy ~

And I dream I'm on vacation 'Cause I like the way that sounds,
It's a perfect occupation for me.

Ah, this board truly enriches our quality of life, does it not? Good for you, PM!

My latest composition is about overspending!
[to the tune of Ol' 55]

Well, my cash went so quickly
    It went lickety-splitly
    Over the last couple nights
    I guess I went crazy
    My memory's hazy
I know that I had a good time....

But now it's time to wake up
And I guess I'm out of luck
    I've spent all my bucks

Let's see, where did it go?
    I saw one Eagles show
Just a-wishin' the ticket was much cheaper
And a-wishin' my pockets were much deeper

    Drunk six screwdrivers
    Paid one cab driver
I had to be on my way
Hotel's the cheapest I could find
    I booked it through Priceline
But seems I paid lots anyway

And now it's time to wake up
And I guess I'm out of luck
    I've spent all my bucks

Hmm, what else did I buy?
Meals plus drinks on the side
Guess I should have brought lots of bread and lunch meat
'Cause wow, those restaurants charge a lot of money

Well, my cash went so quickly
    It went lickety-splitly
    Over the last couple nights
    I thought I had plenty
    But my wallet's empty
I sure didn't care at the time...

But now it's time to wake up, yes it is
And I guess I'm out of luck
    I've spent all my bucks

    T-shirts, mugs, and hats...
    Spendin' all of my cash...
    Tourbooks, key chains, bags...
    Spendin' all of my cash...
    All that high-priced gas...
    Spendin' all of my cash...

I'm screwed when I get back
'Cause I've spent all of my cash

Always in our hearts, Never forgotten

LOL Soda! Love it! Don't we all know that feeling!

    I love this bit especially:

Be warned - this contains extreme silliness, gentle Henley-mocking (I love you, Don!), and one censored expletive. That being said...

To the (vague) tune of Desperado:

    Where'd your 'fro go?

Why did you grow out those cur-urls
    Why'd you let them unfur-url
When you know we love 'em so?
    Oh, you're a fine man
And you've aged with the seasons
    In ways that are pleasin'
    ...still I mourn your 'fro.

Don't you miss those golden ringlets, boy?
    So wild and so untidy
They got you all the girls, I bet...
Now it seems to me you like your hair
    straight and a little spiky
But I still wanna give you... a nice perm and set.

    Where'd your 'fro go?

    Oh, it wasn't always pretty
When you were in Houston city
    in Seventy-Six...
    But hairspray? Oh, hairspray.
    Who needs that stuff?
When you can finger a plug socket
    And still look The Sh*t.

Don't your scalp get cold in the wintertime?
The air's so cold and your hair's so fine
It's hard to keep those pesky draughts at bay
You don't know how to stop your head
    from feeling kinda chilly
But I sure have a way...

    Let your 'fro grow

Why don't you reform those curls
Get your hair and twirl it
    Like you used to do.
It may feel a bit weird
    I know it's been a few years
But it did more than hide your ears
    (More than hide your ears!)

...and could you grow back the beard?

you better put it all behind you, baby, 'cause life goes on
you keep carrying that anger, it'll eat you up inside--

Ah, I mourn the loss of the 'fro and beard, too Troub! Don's hottest look! And the mental image of him sporting that now is quite amusing! lol

Soooo..............how do I meet this friend? hahahahaaaaa

Can you imagine the looks on the guys' faces if we recorded these and gave it to them at a show? LOL!

So this is my humble attempt at this. I feel like such an amateur in the presence of greatness!! lol Aaaaaaavocodoooooo........

Anyway......this came from listening to my dad snore and then discussing with my sister how annoying it is. Which was followed by her informing me that until I was married to a snorer.....I hadn't heard anything yet. Which was followed by these random thoughts as I laid in bed last night. lol

    Every night
    I'm lying in bed
    Fighting you for the sheets
    Thinking about
    How nice it would be
    Just to cover my feet

I've tried to ask you for them
    But your snores just interrupt

    So here I am thinking
    'Bout plugging your nose shut

    Technology is
    A beautiful thing
I go to turn up the heat
With a huff, I crawl back in bed
    And quickly fall asleep

Drenched in sweat, I wake up to a snore
    you've smothered me with sheets

    So here I am thinking
    'Bout plugging your nose shut

    Ooooooo sweet darlin'
I want to plug your nose shut

    Ooooooo sweet darlin'
I want to plug your nose shut

    I'm going back to sleep
    And have a sweet dream
If I have to listen to
    You snore all night
You're going haaaave to breathe through your mouth for a week

Your first attempt is a good one, Maleah! And I can relate. My dad snores so loudly I'd rather share a hotel room with my sister and her crying little ones than with my parents! At least the kiddies only cry intermittently!
