Wow-interesting topic we are on right now. Glad to know I'm not alone in feeling the way I do about not only the outrageous price of tickets but in saying that I wont go see them again at that price!
We should start a poll~~ If they tour again and charge the same prices for tickets, will you pay that price to see them?~~ yes or no. It would be interesting to see the results I think.

Willie, this is what I'm hoping for:
A Borderer party followed by an Eagles concert. I would gladly pay the airfare and hotel stay to meet you guys, then probably pay $60 for a nosebleed seat at the concert!

Pm, did you read my mind? That very thought just went through it!

Ok- I think I could be talked into that!

Glad you enjoyed the Styx - I have no idea who they are but will have to scope them out, now. I didn't know quality acts still toured in such a manner! The heresy! Imagine charging so little for a concert and providing so much! How ironic that people with experiences comparable to yours tend to spend even more on dvds/merch as a thank-you, and spread good will on the band's behalf. Consider us Exhibit A of the "Cheap Ticket Prices Foster Positive Ripples" unofficial research study.
I will most certainly read your review - thank you for the link!
I'm.... not even certain how to respond to that. Do they presume you sit around printing currency all day or...?? Wow. Unfortunately, I would expect them to, as others have indicated, charge even more this time around. You have my sympathy!!
..I was just looking into seeing a Jimmy Buffet concert in November, and the ticket prices are basically the same as they were for the Eagles, which really suprised me...seems to me that all tickets are basically the same price these days....
Yeah, the prices were comparable for U2.
But I figured, for U2, I'd just get a "cheap seat"...
Until I realized that the MAJORITY of the venue was considered "Price Level 1" seating!!!!!!! Since there were fewer "cheap seats," they sold out in MINUTES. My friend and I had gotten on Ticketmaster at 10:00 and by the time we got in the system, no tickets under $100 were available.
What a joke.
I believe that's the venue's fault, not U2... but they might be driven to do it buy how much the band was guaranteed to perform there. I would imagine the same applies to the Eagles.
I can tell you that my mother is still angry with me for paying that much money to go to five shows. I felt however that I needed to be in the expensive seats in Sydney, although I only had one second row seat (for the very last show). But I will be doing this again if I can, except that I intend to swap Brisbane for Melbourne because I can get a discount on a hotel up there.
Don't forget there was also the merchandise. I bought T shirts at every show which were $40 each, plus the program which was $30 plus a Hotel California mug which was about $15.
By the way ABM, your avatar is very clever. Love it.
