Greatest Band Round #1

I'm kinda feeling like Pm here. I know nothing about some of these people/bands. I will enjoy the learning, but I just don't have time for lots of digging.

But, when it all comes down to the end I have a good idea who I'm voting for.

Who can deny how great

the Rolling Stones

I'm ready to get to round 2. I say we cut this thing in half again!

I agree LTLH....cut it to the Top Twenty.

Don't take it for granted that those with the current highest number of votes will end up with an automatic PASS to the Top Twenty.

I'm expecting to hear some heavy justifications to pump up these bands. I have probably 5 or 6 that without research I could justify in my own mind on contributions made. Hendrix, Stones, Zep, Clapton, and you already know what I know about the Bluesbreakers.

I strongly urge anyone interested in this, even if you are not casting a list, to jump in and make a case for bands you really think should be in the running. If nothing else, it might draw attention to those bands and open the eyes of the rest of us to something we might otherwise overlook.

I can't swear that I'll deeply research all Twenty of my picks, but I'm counting on everyone to do a little digging and then based on that, I may dig into ones I'd otherwise NOT dig into. That's what this is all about.

Who's MODERATOR her? BROOKE? I'll open up a new topic called GREATEST BAND ROUND #2 - Top Twenty and list those that made the first cut. Should we "lock" the current two topics so all posts concerning this will go to the right place?
