Watch Mojo did a top 10 video of Eagles songs back in April. Contains strictly the usual suspects, but it is nice to see a popular YouTube channel giving our guys the royal treatment.

All carrot, no stick.
"He's just another power junkie, just another silk scarf monkey. You'd know it if you saw his stuff. The man just isn't big enough."--Glenn Frey/Don Henley
"You think you know me, but you haven't got a clue."--John Lennon/Paul McCartney
First, an apology because I know this isn't the right place for this, it's just it deserves to be seen by everyone, not just those who venture into the JD Souther thread.
This is a really good (and recent) performance of "Heartache Tonight" by JD and a really good band. The only thing missing is the introduction in which he described how it was written (according to one report).

Wow, that's a smoking version! I think of all the times I've heard Souther play this song, this is the closest he's come to the Eagles arrangement.
That was pretty good, thanks for sharing, UndertheWire.
I don't think that I have ever seen him rock out like that! Wonderful performance.
Ted Yoder solo hammered dulcimer version of a song we all know well.

Ah that's my friend Kenny Greenberg playing in that house band. He's a Nashville session guy who plays on all the big new country records. Love that guy. He's playing the sunburst Gibson ES-335 in this. Stylistically we are pretty close as we both are into classic blues rock.
Nice version.
Thanks for these videos UTW and AT. Love JD rockin' out Heartache Tonight. And that guy Ted Yoder does a nice rendition of Hotel California.

Thanks for posting! It's a brilliant rocking performance of the song. Although I don't think JD can quite match the power of Glenn's vocals, the combination of rock and blues guitar styles (the main riff and Joe's slide parts, respectively) that make the music on the original so great is fully present. I like to think Glenn would have been proud of it, that is how you play Heartache Tonight. Hats off to JD and his band.
