A birthday boy from Illinois! REO Speedwagon was a bar band in Champaign/Urbana, IL in the seventies, unfortunately before I got my fake ID.
Since then I've seen them a bunch of times. We like to think of them around here as a local band gone big. They're going to be in Effingham, IL on Dec. 3. I'd love to see them again.

I love REO, too and saw them in the 70's at a nearby college, but don't remember a thing about that concert other than standing in line to get in!
There is a Soundstage dvd of them that I saw a couple months ago and it was really good.

Ooooh yeah! Love John and Pink Houses and Small Town! Great songs! I saw him a few years ago and would love to see him again. Hurts So Good is another fave, but the video is ........interesting!

I also have a confession to make. A lot of you have learned over the years I've never been a big fan of The Beatles. But I have to admit, I've got a new found, shall we say, fondness for John Lennon's work. I started listening to a few of you hear and had hubby start putting on some of the Beatles & Lennon albums and gotta say, some really good stuff! SOME of it. Maybe I'm mellowing out as I get a bit older.
