Wow, that Comfortably Numb video was awesome! That just has to be one of the most beautiful guitar pieces in the history of guitar! To me anyway! It blows me away every time I hear it. I want to just close my eyes and savor the sound. Do you know who the young guy is playing it there? Obviously not David Gilmour! He did it really well.

    Thanks TBF!

HUGE birthday for me today!!!!!! I've made my love for another bass player pretty obvious on this board before and today would of been his birthday.

Today would of been the beautiful Benjamin Orr's 62nd birthday. Unfortunately he passed away on October 3rd in 2000 from pancreatic cancer after a very short 5 month battle with it. He played bass and sang about 50% of the Cars songs in the 70's and 80's.

    Billy Preston turns 63 today.

I had heard years ago about his relationship with the Beatles and I just found this quote on Wiki about it while I was looking to make sure I had heard right. I think it's very amusing.

"Preston is one of several people sometimes referred to by outsiders as a Fifth Beatle. At one point during the Get Back sessions, John even threw out the idea of having him as the "Fifth Beatle" (Paul countered that it was bad enough with four.)"

Yeah, that was near the end, shortly before The Beatles' "divorce". But WOW - the keyboards that Billy Preston puts down on the song Get Back - phenomenal!

OMG, that Pink video is strange! I'd forgotten it! No two ways about it, they are very bad boys!

    But I love 'em!

Me Too, Brooke. Don't know what it is about a Guy playing a guitar and smoking at the same time that makes it very HSG

You are right! Now, why do we think smoking is sexy? I'm always nagging (actually, I've learned not to cause it just makes him mad) at my husband to quit.
