That's worse than any nasty comments. I've had friends who have driven after a couple drinks but this.... wow.

Mark Knopfler turns 60 today. (and I thought of a certain Borderer this morning because of it!)

I knew it was coming up but would you believe I wasn't sure of the exact date!!! So it's August 12. And 60 is a big milestone. Have a very happy birthday Mark and thank you for the wonderful music you have given us.

    My favourite:

And my favourite solo song with fellow Geordie Jimmy Nail:

I could do this all day but I won't!

Aw, happy birthday, Mark! Romeo & Juliet is one of my favourites, too.

    Happy Birthday Mark.

That's a beautiful guitar he's playing in the Romeo and Juliet video.

You can see that particular National guitar on the cover of Brothers In Arms. I can say that when he picks it up and those first few notes of R&J reach your ears, it is one of the great moments in music for me.

Messed up yesterday and forgot one.

Ginger Baker turned 70 (which I simply cannot believe!)

And John Deacon, bass player for Queen, turned 58.

AND NOW FOR A GREAT BIG ONE--- I'm so excited, I can barely contain myself.

    ROBERT PLANT TURNS 61 TODAY!

Imagine the Eagles playing ball in this uniform....

Needless to say---guess what music I'm playing all day today.

And thanks for indulging me here---that was so much fun!!!!

You noticed? You think this is bad, wait till Jimmy Page's birthday in January. Which happens to be on one of my old best friends birthday--she dreaded it every year!!

It's just the whole Led Zeppelin phenomenon . Every time I hear one of their songs, see a picture, watch a video, etc.... I get all hot and bothered!! (did I say that out loud?) There's a few of those artists in my life (Eagles, Zep, The Cars (Ben Orr), Sweet and Jonny Lang) that do that to me. Zep is a BIG one!!

I know we've had this discussion before here, but I'll say it again. I just don't see how anyone can say they don't get the whole Zep thing! It floors me every time, but also like I've said before, I don't get the Beatles so I guess we're even.
