Stuck on the Border
Re: Rock N Roll Birthdays
I knew it was coming up but would you believe I wasn't sure of the exact date!!! So it's August 12. And 60 is a big milestone. Have a very happy birthday Mark and thank you for the wonderful music you have given us.
My favourite:

And my favourite solo song with fellow Geordie Jimmy Nail:

I could do this all day but I won't!

You can see that particular National guitar on the cover of Brothers In Arms. I can say that when he picks it up and those first few notes of R&J reach your ears, it is one of the great moments in music for me.

Re: Rock N Roll Birthdays
You noticed? You think this is bad, wait till Jimmy Page's birthday in January. Which happens to be on one of my old best friends birthday--she dreaded it every year!!
It's just the whole Led Zeppelin phenomenon . Every time I hear one of their songs, see a picture, watch a video, etc.... I get all hot and bothered!! (did I say that out loud?) There's a few of those artists in my life (Eagles, Zep, The Cars (Ben Orr), Sweet and Jonny Lang) that do that to me. Zep is a BIG one!!
I know we've had this discussion before here, but I'll say it again. I just don't see how anyone can say they don't get the whole Zep thing! It floors me every time, but also like I've said before, I don't get the Beatles so I guess we're even.
He sings it high, he plays it low
