Plant was a folk fanatic and it isn't that much of a stretch from folk to country. If you listen to songs like Going To California, Down By The Seaside and Hey Hey What Can I Do, as well as solo tracks like his version of If I Were A Carpenter, it isn't that hard to imagine.
Fp, you have a point there. I haven't heard his "If I Were A Carpenter". I'll have to check it out.

Well, this will help. I hadn't seen this version myself. All I can say is SIGH. Watch for some tongue...

Aah FP--now you've gotten me started again. I will be doing the Zep thing now all day!! (Tho I am really more of a Page than Robert girl!)
Side note--my daughter had a book she's reading sitting on the table over the weekend and she opened it up to her bookmark---which was a beautiful old pic of Robert singing in concert! That's my girl!!!!
He sings it high, he plays it low
This are really all good recommendations!
I did not know many of the songs up to now at all.
My recommendation for today:
Biko from Peter Gabriel, it is my absolute favourite song from him!
The studio version is already very well, however, live is the song simply incredibly!
