OK Maleah, fill me in!! That was freakin' amazing!! You know how I love my blues. Does he have an album out? How far did he make it in Idol (I don't watch)? I'd love to get more of him -he sounds and plays amazing and doesn't look to bad either!
He sings it high, he plays it low
Ok - continuing TBF and I's discussion of some of the more experimental bands from the Survivor thread.
I said I don't like Pink Floyd, Rush, Greatful Dead, or The Who. She asked me if I've listened to the deeper tracks by them. I've listened to pretty much all of their work and here are the songs I like by them.
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here
Rush - Limelight, Closer To The Heart
Greatful Dead - Casey Jones, Touch Of Grey
The Who - Squeeze Box, Won't Get Fooled Again
Other than those songs - I can't say I really like any of their other songs. I do like some rarities/deep tracks by other bands I love although most of my favs are in fact hits. But for the above listed bands I'm afraid that's all she wrote.
Gonna make just a couple of suggestions for you that you might like from a couple of these bands.
I am not a fan of the Dead at all but a few years back I heard a song by them that I fell in love with, Shakedown Street. To me, it's nothing like most of their other stuff.
As for Floyd, I'll admit they are a aquired taste and I actually didn't discover them till I was in my 20s. Before that, I always figured only the "druggies" could "get" Pink Floyd and I was very anti-drug. Boy was I mistaken. One of my favorites isn't a big hit of theirs but is off of one of the most well known albums of all time, The Wall. The song is In The Flesh?. And the song Interstellar Overdrive from Piper At The Gates Of Dawn is something I could see you getting a kick out of trying to figure out all the strange sounds in. I'm assuming a lot of pedals were used in the making of that one. In fact, most of that album would be interesting for you to try to figure out. That album is definitely "experimental drug music".
I know Floyd's music is "different" and can understand the "experimental" tag but how amazing is David Gilmour and Roger Waters? Especially since you love guitar work, I would think you'd be all over David Gilmour. I must say I'm a bit shocked by this revelation.
I totally agree with you about The Who!! YUCK!! Can we say overrated!?!? I just don't see it!
Just some suggestions you might want to kick around with in some of your spare time. I'd be interested in hearing what you have to say about the Floyd stuff.

You don't like The Who Austin?
Phew-- She must of missed my 2nd to the last comment in my post regarding The Who. (ducks and runs)
He sings it high, he plays it low
Willie I already knew of your dislike of The Who
I'll throw in my 2 cents and say I don't care much for The Who either! lol

I'll raise you a quarter -- cause I love 'em.
