Wow - I've just been reminded that we never did our poll of listing the songs on this album from our favorites to least favorites as we did for all of the other Eagles albums. Sorry I missed this on the anniversary week back in March, but we can make up for it now - better late than never as they say! As with all the other albums, I wrote a song-by-song review earlier in this thread, but I'll go ahead and repost my list to start things off here. I'll compile the results as I usually do if folks want to join in and post their lists. So here goes mine ...

    1. Already Gone
    2. Best Of My Love
    3. Good Day In Hell
    4. James Dean
    5. My Man
    6. On The Border
    7. Ol' '55
    8. Midnight Flyer
    9. You Never Cry Like A Lover
    10. Is It True

I sure wish, as many do, they would bring back AG in concert.

Just listened to this again before making my list, and what a great album this is. All the songs are great, not a single weak one. Thus, for this list there is not a very big difference between those near the top and those near the bottom - all are excellent - just prefer those towards the top a little more. But even the 'bottom three' here (which I know are songs others here have criticized) are songs I like alot. So, I added a few brief comments on what I like about each song.

    1. Already Gone (perhaps their best pure rocker)
    2. Good Day In Hell (cool beat, feel, great slide work)
    3. James Dean (another great rocker)
    4. Midnight Flyer (their best bluegrass stomper)
    5. Ol' '55 (tremendous cover version of Tom Waits classic)
    6. My Man (probably Bernie's best vocal performance)
    7. Best Of My Love (their first #1 hit, deservedly)
    8. On The Border (cool & funky, great extended ending)
    9. You Never Cry Like A Lover (especially love the middle bridge section and the "I was hopin' you were the one" vocals)
    10. Is It True? (solid Randy vocal)

Just a great album, top to bottom!

Solidly in my favorite Eagles era. The last song is the only one that's "meh" for me. The rest are great.

    1. Already Gone
    2. Ol' '55
    3. Best of My Love
    4. Good Day In Hell
    5. My Man (probably the most underrated harmonies ever!)
    6. On The Border
    7. Midnight Flyer
    8. Is It True
    9. James Dean
    10. You Never Cry Like A Lover

I would struggle to rank these, however I wanted to comment that I, too, enjoy every song on this album. None of them are in my "absolute favourites" list, but I still love listening to the whole album right through.

I know I'm late to this party but I wanted to throw in my list as well. The only song I really dislike on this album is number 10, but you have to rank it somehow, even though these are changeable.

    1. Best of My Love
    2. Already Gone
    3. Ol' 55
    4. My Man
    3. Good Day In Hell
    4. James Dean
    8. Midnight Flyer
    8. On The Border
    9. Is It True
    10. You Never Cry Like a Lover

Always in our hearts, Never forgotten
