I wish they would play this in the Eagles shows. It's my favorite Glenn song (without the Eagles). They have a saxophone player, so they could definitely play it if they wanted to. I wish they would - I really like this song.
They did play it briefly during the HFO tour. The version I have of them doing it in London brought the house down.
I think he thinks the lyrics are not 'important' enough for the Eagles. I suspect he also thinks that about Somebody. He also did not write these two songs.
I have two words for him then. Smuggler's. Blues.
(Fortunately I did see the Eagles play that in 1995 - AND You Belong To The City as well! Those were the days).
My favourite version of YBTTC, thanks to the bit about 1.21 and the following few seconds.
Fantastic shot IMO, and (a) to whoever filmed that particular shot I'm sooooo and (b) to whoever was responsible for including that particular shot in the video

"For the record, we never broke up, we just took a 14-year vacation!"
(Glenn Frey)
Thanks for that, Soda.
Got me wondering why Glenn does not play any of his solo stuff on tour with the Eagles. Don does. Joe does. Anybody know if Glenn has previously? I'd love to hear some of his stuff live.
BTW, how hot does he look? Mmm Mmm Good.
On the HFO tour he did Smuggler's Blues & You Belong To The City. They did The Heat Is On very briefly. On the F1 tour he did You Belong To The City. This is a sore subject, I'm afraid.
Check out these videos to see how awesome they were live on the HFO tour:

The Eagles also perform YBTTC on the Farewell 1 DVD.
It might surprise you to find out the YBTTC and THIO both charted higher on Billboard than any solo songs by any other Eagles (both topped out at #2). In third place is Dirty Laundry.
