I hope this one doesn't disappear. I love it.
Thanks so much Delilah! His voice sounds soooo good! Like honey. What awesome clips!
Watched his 1984 appearance on Letterman this evening. Too funny. "Johnny looks thirsty." And the look on the guitarist's face as Glenn sings "Desperado" is just priceless. He's loving it.
Now, I know very well that this song was written about Ann Wilson's first husband, but like all great songs, it can have multiple meanings for different people. You know, just throwing it out there.

Love this video! Thanks so much for posting it! Glenn's voice sounds wonderful. But I got tickled, watching him toss his head about 50 times, to get that pesky lock of hair out of his right eye. Explains the sunglasses later on. LOLOL.
Yes I love his voice too it's one of my favorite vocal performances of his. It was 1973 - so early in Eagles history - they were living the dream and totally in the moment.
As for "the hair" ... I think you are right about the sunglasses they certainly did the trick lol!

Dawn - Thanks for posting that video. They did so many great song at that Popgala concert. I just love the added verse on TS and wish they had included it when they recorded the album.
Pippin - Lol - the hair and head flipping are a distraction for sure. I think he always wore sunglasses from 74/75 until he got his hair cut in 79. I loved Glenn's hair long. If it was me I would have had it trimmed around the eyes-lol. I can't stand my hair in my eyes so that would have drove me crazy.
You know, I really need to stop reading comments on Eagles videos on YouTube. They run my blood pressure up. Especially when someone says Glenn wasn't a "particularly proficient" musician.
I don't suppose I have to mention who was hotly defended in the comment, instead. Sheesh.
Pippin - Me too. A lot of people leave comments about him being the least talented of them. Always pisses me off. Of course those same people leave comments crediting Don F. with everything from founding the band to writing the songs and all the musical arrangements.
